Rivers of the Future

Client: Fine Acts
Year: 2023
Rivers have always been vital to human civilization, serving as lifelines that support biodiversity, natural habitats, and cultural heritage. The Collective Foundation, through its Rivers of the City initiative, aims to reconnect urban neighborhoods with their rivers using art and architectural installations. This initiative not only highlights the importance of rivers but also engages tens of thousands of people through festivals and placemaking activities, demonstrating how rivers can enhance our lives.
I envision urban rivers as vibrant hubs of joy, culture, and activity, where people can also connect with nature and find tranquility. To illustrate this connection, I’ve depicted the river flowing from the girl’s hair, symbolizing how the river intertwines with human life, linking everyone to the heart of the city.
Additionally, I’ve emphasized green, lively surroundings to reflect the revitalization and flourishing of urban spaces around these rivers.
